WeSportUp 2022 Demo Day - The Italian Sport Game Changer

On the afternoon of Wednesday, December 14, "WeSportUp 2022 Demo Day - The Italian Sport Game Changer," the concluding event of the 'sport & wellness accelerator,' was held at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.

The event was initiated by CDP Venture Capital through its Accelerators Fund and has Sport and Health SpA as institutional partners, and Startupbootcamp and Wylab as managers. Among the various guests in attendance were Vito Cozzoli, President and CEO of Sport and Health, and Francesca Bria, President of CDP Venture Capital SGR.

Demo Day concluded WeSportUp's first acceleration cycle, a 9-month journey that began in April with the launch of the call and then went through a scouting phase that lasted about 4 months where nearly 600 startups from 32 different countries were identified. Of these, 19 were invited to Selection Day, an event where the best ones were selected for the acceleration program.

The startups arrived at Demo Day after an intense 14-week acceleration journey that began on September 5 and was coordinated by the WeSportUp team, made up of mentorship and coaching moments with one-on-one sessions, business training workshops, masterclasses with experts and professionals from the sports-tech world, showcase events, business development support activities, and working sessions with corporate partner companies to implement pilot projects and market tests.

100 professionals involved in supporting the startups, 270 hours dedicated to one-on-one meetings, 101 opportunities created both from the business and fundraising point of view,

3 PoCs (proofs of concept) set up with the accelerator's corporate partners (BNL, Fastweb, Renault, Snaitech, Telepass). At the Demo Day, 9 startups were selected to present their innovative solutions with impact on different areas of the sports and wellness industry.

CARE was among these selected startups and brought its fitness/wellness and padel solution to the public eye. The interest generated was also important thanks to the presence of partners Ricoh Italia, WIB and Sportclubby.

Open up, take Care.
